It was an honor to capture Melanie and Brian’s wedding day at The Makoy Center in Hilliard. They say rainy wedding days are good luck! In this case, Melanie and Brian will have SO much good luck in their marriage, ha!! It rained every hour of the day. Rest assured, I had a back up plan so Melanie and Brian could still do outdoor photos! The bridal party got their umbrellas ready and the covered bridge at Homestead Park provided the perfect shelter!
We started off at the Makoy Center for getting ready photos and Melanie’s bridesmaids were just so fun! We laughed a lot and enjoyed the time despite all of the rain. After the ceremony, the limo took us to the Homestead Park for wedding photos! We enjoyed the lovely scenery which included a pond, covered bridge and beautiful walking paths!
We also did Melanie and Brian’s engagement session at this same park too exactly 1 year ago! I remember Melanie telling me they were taking dance lessons in preparation for their wedding day! I asked them to show me some of their dance moves! It was really exciting to see all of their hard work come together for their first dance as husband and wife at the reception! I felt like I was watching an episode of Dancing with the Stars! I give them a 10 out of 10, ha! I can’t wait for them to see all of the dancing photos! Their reception was so fun and the dance floor was packed!
Melanie and Brian I wish you so many happy years together! It was a joy to be a part of your day! You handled all of the rain with such grace and calmness! Thank you for being so adventurous, trusting my rain plan, venturing outside of the covered bridge and not being afraid of getting a few sprinkles on your dress! It was SO worth it! It doesn’t even look like rain in the photos! I hope you are an inspiration to other brides that they can have beautiful portraits too- on a rainy day! Please enjoy a few of my favorites!
