I was SO excited when Kevin contacted me this summer asking if we could do an engagement session together this fall in Columbus!! Last November, Kevin proposed to Jenna along the Scioto Mile in downtown Columbus and hired me to capture the surprise proposal too! It was one of my warmest memories as a photographer! To capture such a special moment in two people’s lives! I felt like the luckiest photographer around! Kevin and I planned out the route and I was full of excitement to be able to capture the surprise proposal for them as well!! Also I think I talked about it to my husband for days! After Kevin got down on one knee and Jenna of course had a moment to soak in the happy moments, we did a little mini session of the two of them together too!
For their engagement session, Kevin sent me an image of a field that inspired them as a couple! Fall is their favorite time of the year. So we decided to do their session at Homestead Park in Hilliard in October! I sent them a guide for how to prepare for their engagement session and then Jenna referred to this for their outfit coordination & selection! I always tell couples it is great to do a dressy outfit along with a casual outfit too! We did an extended session so they were able to sneak in a 3rd outfit. And wow, the weather just perfect!
A session within the hours prior to sunset is so perfect for the nice glowy and golden light! Lighting is so important to a photographers style and feel in the images. I just love bright and airy, clean images! Most of all, I am excited to have captured this journey for Kevin & Jenna…from proposal, to engagement, to wedding day!!
