We are so lucky to have so many wonderful locations for engagement sessions that really show off the downtown Columbus skyline! First stop was North Bank Park for some casual and fun couples portraits! The weather was perfect and the glowy sun was just starting to set! Bonus points go to Lauren for wearing my favorite color!! This beautiful light pink shade is EXACTLY what is used in my wedding photography logo! I just love the way Lauren & George look at each other.
Our next stop was The Ohio Statehouse for more engagement photos in some more dressy attire! We had so much fun and the Statehouse just provides a really clean and bright backdrop to the session! They have a beautiful variety of Columbus skyline, elegant statehouse and some portraits together in front of this unique ivy wall nearby!
The most commonly asked question I get from brides is what to wear for their engagement session! So I have put together a wonderful little guide to help! It is great to have two outfits! Most couples do one dressy outfit and one more casual outfit. This is great because it will add a variety to your images! This couple coordinates but they are not too matchy! It is also best to avoid small prints that will not photograph well.
During a session we will alternate between different poses too! Not all poses will be directly looking at the camera! So brides- make sure you prepare your grooms for this! haha! We will have a combination of poses together, walking, looking at each other, etc.! It will be so fun!
