I feel so blessed to have photographed Karen & Shane’s Wedding at La Navona! I know how special these photographs will be to their family! It was a lovely and super sunny day filled with so many emotions, the cutest first look, touching vows, the bride’s sister who walked her down the aisle, a heart-felt speech by the Father of the Bride’s Best Friend, and even a lion dance!
The day started at the Mariott hotel near the airport! It was impressive to see how far so many people traveled to be a part of Karen & Shane’s day! We captured getting ready shots of Karen with her beautiful bridesmaids and her Aunt- who did an amazing job supporting Karen on this special day!
Creekside Park in Gahanna made the perfect backdrop for Karen & Shane’s first look and portraits! It was seriously the cutest first look I ever remember photographing! Shane also gets the award for the most sweet look on his face when he saw his bride! I can’t describe his happiness but the images capture it perfectly! The phrase, a picture speaks 1,000 words is so true! It was wonderful to be part of a couple’s day who love each other so deeply!
The ceremony began with Karen’s sister walking her down the aisle—a very emotional moment for all. Karen’s parents were unable to attend due to the severity of her Father’s recent medical issues. I can say I have never cried so much at a wedding and felt so deeply connected to this special family. Their beautifully written vows were so touching!
The reception began with a heart-felt welcome speech by her Father’s best friend. I can say there wasn’t a dry eye in the room! He read a speech written by Karen’s Father. I can truly say, it was something I will never forget. What a special Father he is and what a true best friend he has!
Karen and Shane did a fantastic first dance! And then there was the surprise Lion Dance! It was so entertaining to watch! The Lion ate lettuce and then a baby came out of his mouth! The reaction was so funny for all to see!
Karen and her sister were able to chat by video with their parents! When I saw how big her Father was smiling and waving, I burst into tears! He looked SO happy to be a part of her day, even if he was experiencing it by phone. He was there in spirit! And his smile was the biggest and happiest!
Oh Karen & Shane…I just can’t put into words how happy I am to have not just documented and captured your day, but to truly say I’ve made two new friends! Your Father and Mother will be in all of my prayers. I wish you many, many beautiful, happy, and healthy years together!
