This past weekend I had an exciting experience doing an out-of-state wedding at The Grand Hall Union Station in Downtown Indianapolis! It was an elegant, classy wedding with a modern twist! Julie and Rob’s reception venue is an old train station that has been converted into a hotel and wedding venue location!
The Grand Hall Union Station is beautiful, elegant and overwhelmingly amazing! It is historic, being America’s first “Union Station”! The Grand Hall Union Station boasts a Romanesque Revival-style architecture, tall arches, columns, terrazzo floors, glass barrel ceiling and a 20-foot stained glass window! It also accommodates up to 700 guests!
The ceremony took place at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. It has the longest aisle in Indiana! St. John the Evangelist is the largest Catholic parish in the city of Indianapolis. The red-brick church has a lovely style, including a French Gothic Revival and a Romanesque Revival architecture. In addition the sanctuary has a seating capacity of 3,000!
Since the wedding took place in September, they used fall colors–burgundy, navy, and gold. The groomsmen also wore navy tuxedos and the bridesmaids wore a shade of burgundy. Junior bridesmaids wore beautiful gold dresses!
Julie and Rob met in high school, when she was teaching him how to high jump! After that he asked her to prom and now they’ve been together over 7 years! They didn’t plan on going to the same college. Julie wanted to go to school to be a pharmacist and Rob wanted to be an engineer and it just so happened Ohio Northern University was the perfect fit for the both of them! Rob proposed to Julie the weekend after Valentine’s Day, when she was in Cincinnati doing a rotation.
Julie and Rob, I wish I could have a weekend like the one I had with you every weekend! It was an honor to share in your day, to meet your families and those closest to you in your bridal squad! I hope you are blessed with a lifetime of happiness!
