The Westin Columbus is my favorite downtown Columbus Wedding Venue.

The catering staff is formally dressed in their black tie tuxedo-type uniforms.  The Westin provides locally sourced and seasonal cuisine to make your special day unforgettable.

Even the lobby provides an exquisite and dramatic entrance where you are greeted with a vertically planted garden!  The Westin’s Vertical Garden is a signature design element that introduces a sense of tranquility into the space.

Looking for a large-scale wedding venue to host your Wedding?  Or perhaps a Micro Wedding, Small Intimate Wedding or Brunch Wedding?

The ballroom boasts a maximum capacity of 300 people for the banquet style room setup!

The most unique thing about the Westin ballroom is that I have also photographed small/intimate weddings and brunch weddings as small as 50 people!  The room can be partitioned off so a portion is for a dedicated ceremony space as well.

The transitions from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception is always seamless at The Westin.

What else should we know about a Wedding Reception in the Westin Grand Ballroom?

The 4140 square foot stately marble ballroom floor is surrounded by stained glass and windows from top to bottom are sure to create memorable experience for guests.  The building opened in 1897, making this luxurious ballroom is over 100 years old!  The gold sconces add to the charm and classic feel.

Receptions are also indoor only and there is a food and beverage minimum applied to all events.  The venue allows 6 hours of event time excluding set up and clean up time.

Getting ready photos at The Westin Columbus

Brides can be photographed right in the hotel Presidential suite for getting ready photos— this makes the Westin so ideal!

The 1500 square foot space includes a King size bed, two bathrooms and double vanities perfect for bridesmaids to have a designated spot to get ready.

The Westin’s elegant bridal suite conveniently, features a spacious living room with ample space to entertain guests in downtown Columbus.

The room also includes a sofa, chair, desk, ironing boards, mini-fridge and coffee maker— everything you and your bridal party needs!

I have photographed many Weddings where both the indoor ceremony, cocktail hour and reception takes at The Westin Columbus.

The Westin can easily and seamlessly accommodate indoor ceremonies inside the ballroom with a partition.  There are also many Catholic Churches located downtown nearby the Westin as well for ceremonies such as Holy Cross, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, St. Mary Catholic Church and St.

Joseph Cathedral to name a few.  The Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, Broad Street United Methodist Church, Trinity Episcopal and Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church all nearby!

Wedding Portrait Locations at The Westin Columbus

Wondering about Portrait Locations for your Westin Wedding?

Of course there is no prettier place for a first look or bridal portraits than the Westin Ballroom itself!

The ballroom is both a romantic and fairytale setting for family portraits, bridal portraits, bridal party portraits, etc.

One of my favorite locations for a change of scenery is The Ohio Statehouse!  It provides a neutral and clean backdrop with an elegant Westin-like vibe with the tall columns.

Also nearby are many surrounding beautiful parks such as Topiary Park, Bicentennial Park, The Scioto Mile, Genoa Park and Columbus Commons to name just a few.  Surrounding the Westin are many city-like alleyways and across the street is a green space.

The Westin Great Southern Columbus historic facade can not be missed and is conveniently located downtown at 310 S. High Street Columbus, Ohio 43215.  Parking is available on-site, off-site or by valet.  The Brewery Parking Garage is conveniently located just one block down across the street.

Attractions and Local Area Near The Westin Columbus

The Ohio Statehouse is located right down the road from the Westin and is a gorgeous sight to see with so much history!

The Statehouse has been designated a National Historic Landmark by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior. Visitors are welcome to tour the Ohio Statehouse using the self-guided tour brochure  The artitechure is of Greek Revival style and construction began in Construction began in 1839 .

The rows of columns resemble famous buildings such as the Parthenon in Athens.  The Ohio Statehouse is built largely of Columbus limestone and is a sight to see!

The Westin is also nearby the German Village which is known for its charming  red brick houses built by 19th-century immigrants along Beck, Mohawk, and Deshler streets.  You will definitely want to take time to walk around this unique area!

A few things you can enjoy are the shops selling books, traditional fudge, and handmade jewelry mingle with art galleries, German pubs, American bistros, and artisan coffee shops.

Theater enthusiasts will love the play that take place in Schiller Park with its fountains and beautiful flower beds.

The Great Southern Whiskey Bar is always a favorite for the bridal party!

It is a chic setting to sip on a variety of whiskeys or savor signature cocktails.

The Great Southern Whiskey Bar is located inside of The Westin Great Southern Columbus hotel on South High Street and has whiskey available in over 100 brands!
